The partnership was formed in 1984.

Our stud is loosely based on the Jo Mannes stud from Germany. We formed an alliance of four people and brought in six pairs of pure Mannes birds, on one of the first shipments of import birds in the nineties.  

A syndicate member, was sent over to Germany to buy directly from Mannes' avairy. Of the 12 birds, Jo Mannes recommended we concentrate on a normal grey cock, off his Superbuff line - his best family.  These 6 pairs were bred together for 2 years & then all the breeding pairs and their progeny were split up between the syndicate members. This original grey cock bred by Jo & 2 of his sons  (a normal sky & normal cobalt), amongst other related birds, were acquired in the split by ourselves. 

The grey cock from the Mannes Superbuff line, proved to be split cinnamon and was the foundation of our show winning Cinnamon line.  Our other prepotent line, is our Light Green Violet line. We believe this to be our strongest family. It is based on a light green cock, bred in England, from a pure Mannes pair purchased in Germany, by a friend of ours. This Light Green cock came across on a later shipment and was paired to a pure Moffat  opaline dark green violet hen. This nest became the foundation of our Light Green Violet line (the many sky violets/ cobalt looking birds we have are also from this line – just in blue series form).  

We find that birds that carry this violet factor tend to have greater feather length than their non-violet factor nest mates.
